Day 19 - Any Magical Girl manga you wish was animated?
I missed a day and will be coming back to it!
Okay, so, I don’t actually read a lot of manga. And while I would like to see some of the Sailor Moon side stories animated and the Madoka Magica ones, what I would really love to see are indie comics. Specifically The Hues and Weapon Girls: Waltz.
I love the concepts and stories in both, also the art is gorgeous and if they could maintain the styles in animation I would be delighted. I like The Hues specifically for representing different races and body types. Weapon Girls has more sentimental value tho. It had aspects of a shared culture (a Quinceañera in particular) and I also had a now passed on abuela telling me I was powerful. So the story really struck a nerve with me.
Haven’t read The Hues yet, but yes, I would like to see Weapon Girls animated. Also just more Weapon Girls.

I’m glad that Weapon Girls had such emotional value for you! That’s so nice and satisfying to hear! Alas, I too wish I could animate it, except while I love and am greatly inspired by the animated medium, the actual process of animation drives me a bit (a lot) insane.
As for more Weapon Girls, it’s on the back burner to some more immediate projects atm, but there are certainly plans a brewing for more to happen!
Alright guys, time for some news I promised y’all awhile back:
Lacrimancer and Weapon Girls Vol. 01: Waltz are now available in digital format on my Gumroad page! Woohoo!
Lacrimancer debuted and sold out at SPX 2014! A second printing of the physical copy will also be available at Locust Moon Comics Fest in Philadelphia on October 25th! Further opportunities to buy the physical copy will be announced after this date, thank you for your patience!
Weapon Girls Vol.01: Waltz debuted at SPX 2013, and is out of print in the “real” tactile world. It is currently available digitally as a pay-what-you-want download!
I also took down my storenvy page due to some changes they’re making that I am unsure if I like, but now the “Store" link on my page redirects to my Gumroad page. No physical goodies, but please check out my comics particularly if you wanted to pick up a copy at SPX before it sold out due to my bad planning (sorry)!
If you’d like to do me a solid, please reblog and spread the news! Thanks-a-poodle :-D !
Tuesdays at work are my “Drawing request” days with the kiddos, where I take requests to draw them stuff if they work on their own drawings with me. Not quite a part of my inktober theme, but I do get a bit of inking practice out of these. And yesterday’s topics were spot on!
This year was me and tchurn's 6 year anniversary :)
As I gift, I got our awesome friends to do illustrations of our past anniversary and other moments from the last 6 years and put them into a book. Super super thanks to our friends who contributed :)
